The trail markers we offer are not easily seen in the daylight unless you have a very bright light source. It is not a good way to locate items in bright daylight unless you know what you are looking for. The reflective trail markers are best when used in LOW LIGHT and/or NO LIGHT situations. All of the Pictures on the site are in bright daylight and the only thing we did was turn the flash on or off to get the photos. I can honestly say that these photos do not do justice to the reflective trail markers we offer. All of the pictures you will see on the example pages are of the product placed near my home and have been in the weather for a while, note the dates on the bottom right of the photos. We have not doctored the photos in any way other than turn the camera flash off or on.
Please do not get me wrong. We also utilize GPS when outdoors. We use it for marking sign when scouting. We use GPS more for marking where the first piece of tape is located on the route to our stand sites. We never place it close to a road or trail so that it can be easily seen. When we want to send someone to one of our stands, we give them the coordinates to the first piece of tape only. This info is very easy to share over the phone, in a note left at camp, via email as well as in other forms.
The main product we offer was not developed by us. We have used it in many forms of packaging for over 10+ years. We just found a way to package it and offer it in a very convenient form to others. We settled on this type of packaging because it is what we found to work best for us. It is small enough that is takes up very little space and light weight. The package has 20+ foot of the reflective trail marker tape on it because that was the most feasible amount to put on it. One spool lasts us for 2+ years. The average size we use is about 1/8” to 1/2” in length. The width of the product is ½”. How long it will last you, will depend on how you use it and how much of it you use. We can show you samples that have been in the field for 5+ years and the tape is all but gone and if you know what to look for you can still find your way.
We are not saying this product is waterproof or can be used underwater. We have never tried or found a reason too attempt it but, if you can get it to stick and stay underwater I do believe it will work well for some time. We have used it for years in all kinds of weather and with nothing more than it showing age or even moss starting to grow on it, It still serves its purpose for us.
If you wish to see more photos feel free to request them. If you let me know I can post more examples so they others can see them as well.
